Seaview Cottage

Seaview Cottage is in Ascog on the Isle of Bute. It's a detached cottage, so you're on your own. The view is over the open water, and the shore is just a few yards from the garden gate. You can hear the sea.

It sleeps three. There's one bedroom with a double bed, and a sofa bed in the living area. One bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and in good order. The entrance and interior are all on one level, so it's step-free.

The garden is enclosed and private. There's a patio with the view and a hot tub. Inside it's open plan. You've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for one car right outside.

You can bring one dog. The garden is fully enclosed, which is handy.

There's a golf course nearby. For fishing, Loch Fad for trout is about three miles away. The island is good for walking and cycling. You'll see seals at Scalpsie Bay. If you want history, there's Rothesay Castle or Mount Stuart house and gardens. The National Trust for Scotland has information about Mount Stuart.

You're on an island, but it's an easy one. The ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay takes about 35 minutes and you can just drive on. Once you're here, everything is within a twenty minute drive. For a longer day out, you can take the short ferry from Rhubodach to Colintraive on the mainland. From there, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is about a 30 minute drive. The ferries over to Islay or Jura are a bit further, maybe an hour and a half drive from the Colintraive side.
