This is Munro's. It's in Port Bannatyne, on the Isle of Bute. It's a big house that sleeps sixteen, eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms. The house is next to where we live, but you've got your own space.
It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not a show home. The kitchen is big, which is good for a group that size. There's a cinema room downstairs with a projector, which kids tend to like.
You're up the hill a bit from the water, so you get a good view over the Firth of Clyde from the front. The local shop and pub are a five minute walk down the hill. The pub does food.
It's quiet here. Good for walking or cycling on the island roads. The West Island Way is the main path if you want a proper walk. The beach at Ettrick Bay is about a fifteen minute drive.
Rothesay is the main town, about two miles away. You've got the usual shops there, and the pier for the ferry. Mount Stuart is a ten minute drive, their gardens are good. There's also a golf course just outside Port Bannatyne.
In the summer, the Waverley paddle steamer sometimes calls in at Rothesay. You can get a trip over to Arran on it if the timings work.
Facilities: parking for a few cars, garden with patio, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. Wood burning stove in the living room. We can take up to three dogs.
