Harebeck Cottage Gosforth

Harebeck Cottage is on our dairy farm just outside Gosforth. You'll hear cows and see us working. That's it. The views are good though, right out to the fells.

It sleeps six. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable but not modern. That means a lot of the original farmhouse features are still there. The stairs are steep. That's the main thing to know.

Inside, there's an Aga that heats the whole downstairs. It's on all the time in cooler weather. There's a wood burner too. The main bedroom is open to the landing, but you can shut it off with folding doors if you want. The bathroom has both a big walk-in shower and a deep bath.

The second bedroom has a double bed and a bunk bed. It's down a small corridor.

You can bring one dog. We ask that you keep them under control because of the farm. There's parking right outside.

Gosforth village is less than a mile for basic shops and a couple of pubs. The beach at Seascale is about three miles away. It's a long sandy beach, good for a walk.

You're well placed for the Western Lakes. Wastwater is a short drive. For Scafell Pike or climbing in Wasdale, it's a good base. Whitehaven is about twenty minutes up the coast if you need more shops or want to see the harbour.

Facilities are all there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. The parking is on site.
