Roses Cottage is in Santon. It's a small village between Gosforth and Eskdale, in the Western Lakes. It's quiet here.
The cottage sleeps four, in two bedrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. You should know the stairs are steep and narrow, and there's a low ceiling on the way up to the twin room. It's just how the old cottage is built.
Downstairs, there's a living room with an open fire and a Smart TV. The kitchen leads out to the back garden. The garden is enclosed and looks out over fields towards Great Gable and Wasdale. It's a good spot.
In the village itself, there's not much, which is the point. Santon Bridge is about a mile away and has a pub, a tearoom, and a gift shop. Gosforth is two miles. It has a couple of pubs that do food, a good shop, and a coffee shop.
You're well placed for the western fells. The shortest route up Scafell Pike starts from Wasdale Head, which is about a 20 minute drive. For a day out, The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is nearby, and so is Muncaster Castle. The beach at Drigg is about five miles away.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
