You're right in the middle of the village. There's a pub about fifty yards away that does food. The village shop is very handy. A good café too.
The coast at Drigg is about three miles. It's a quiet beach with dunes. For a proper mountain day, Wasdale is about a fifteen-minute drive. That's where Scafell Pike is. Lake District National Park.
Muncaster Castle is a couple of miles away. They've got gardens and a bird of prey centre. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is there too, it's a small steam train that goes into the valley. Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.
