The Owls Hollow

The Owls Hollow is one of three identical safari tents on Little North Field in Bishop Thornton. It’s on the edge of the village, so it’s quiet, but you can walk to the pub.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms. One has a king size bed. The other has a bunk arrangement: a double on the bottom and a single on top. There’s one shower room, which is modern and works fine.

Inside, it’s one open-plan space. There’s a kitchen area with an electric hob and a microwave, a dining table, and a sitting area with a wood burning stove. It’s warm and dry, but it's a tent, so expect canvas walls and the sounds of the field.

Outside, you have your own deck with seating and a fire pit with a barbecue. It faces the open field, so it’s private.

Bishop Thornton is a small village. The local pub does food and is about a ten minute walk. Harrogate is a ten minute drive. It’s a proper town with shops, restaurants, and the famous Bettys tearoom.

For getting outdoors, you’re right on the edge of the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Brimham Rocks is about a fifteen minute drive and is good for a walk with strange rock formations. Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden are about twenty five minutes away, and Ripley Castle is about twenty.

Facilities: bedding and towels are included. There’s parking next to the tent. There’s electric heating and the wood burner. You can use the fire pit and barbecue. Sorry, no pets.
