This is Stable Cottage, just outside Markington. It's stone-built, converted from the old stables. It's detached, so no neighbours attached. You get your own garden with a patio and a barbecue.
It sleeps six, three bedrooms upstairs, all decent sizes. They all have their own bathroom: two are ensuite showers, and there's a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The stairs are normal.
You're about a ten minute drive from Ripon. It's a small city, nice market square with pubs and shops. The cottage has a 4 Star rating, which means it's well finished. Underfloor heating downstairs, a good kitchen with a dishwasher, and a table that seats everyone.
There's a pub in the village, you can walk to it. It does food. The area is good for walking and cycling straight from the door. You can also go horse riding locally if you arrange it.
Fountains Abbey is about a twenty minute drive. It's a World Heritage Site, really impressive ruins and gardens. Harrogate is about half an hour away, for the shops and the Turkish Baths. The Yorkshire Dales National Park starts not far from here, maybe a fifteen minute drive to get into proper Dales scenery.
Facilities: there's parking right by the cottage, bike storage, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot. You can bring up to two dogs.
