Swiss Cottage is in Quernmore. It's a couple of miles east of Lancaster. The cottage is part of a working dairy farm, which is about a hundred and fifty metres away. You'll see and hear the farm. If you like cows, that's good.
It sleeps five people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well-finished and comfortable. Everything's been recently done up. There's underfloor heating downstairs.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining, and living area. There's a separate garden room with another TV that opens out onto the patio. The garden is lawn, mostly to the front and side. It's a good spot to sit out.
You're right in the Forest of Bowland, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Walking from the door is easy. Clougha Pike is a local hill with good views. For something more organised, Williamson Park in Lancaster is nice.
Lancaster is about ten minutes' drive. You've got the castle, the university, and all the shops. Morecambe Bay is eight miles west. Blackpool is about half an hour south if you want the lights or the tower.
Further out, you can get to the Yorkshire Dales near Ingleton in roughly forty minutes. The southern Lake District, around Kendal, is about the same. It's a decent base for exploring.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if needed. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
