The Loft

The Loft is in a quiet residential street about a 20-minute walk from Lancaster city centre. It's a self-contained flat above our garage.

It's billed as a 5 Star place, and it's comfortable, but we keep it simple. It's a space for two. One bedroom with a super king bed, and an en-suite shower room. Everything's on one level once you're up the external stairs.

You've got your own patio and bit of garden out the back. It gets the sun in the afternoon. There's parking for one car on the drive.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a kitchen area with a dishwasher and washing machine. The sofa faces a TV and the French doors. There's a small table for two to eat at. The bedroom is through a doorway.

Williamson Park is a ten-minute walk up the hill. The views from the Ashton Memorial are worth it. They have a butterfly house and a cafe. For a longer walk, you can pick up the path along the River Lune from near the castle.

Lancaster itself has the castle, which you can tour, and the Maritime Museum. Morecambe is about a fifteen-minute drive away. The promenade there has that famous view across the bay to the Lake District hills. The Eden Project North is being built there now.

If you want to drive out, you can be in the southern Lake District in about 35 minutes. The Yorkshire Dales are about the same drive in the other direction.

Facilities wise: all bedding and towels are provided. There's WiFi. No pets, sorry.
