The Old Hat Factory
The Old Hat Factory is, as it sounds, an old hat factory. It's on our dairy farm in Quernmore. It's a detached building, so it's quiet. The views are good from all sides. You can see the valley.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done up well and feels quite new inside. The bath is in the bedroom in front of the Juliet balcony. It's an unusual feature, but you do get the view from it.
There's a private hot tub outside. It looks over the fields. It's on a working farm, so you'll hear and see the cows sometimes. That's part of it.
The nearest shop and pub are about two and a half miles away in the village. There's a restaurant about two miles away. For a bigger town, Lancaster is four miles. It's got a castle, shops, and the university. Morecambe Bay is about eight miles for the sea air.
You're well placed for walking. Clougha Pike is less than a mile from the door for a proper hike. The Forest of Bowland is right on the doorstep. The Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales are both within about half an hour's drive if you want a day out. Kendal is 27 miles.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burner, a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
