The Old Hat Factory
The Old Hat Factory is our place up in Quernmore. It's a former hat factory, detached. It looks out over the Quernmore Valley from pretty much every window, which is the main thing about it.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The rating is 5 Star, which basically means it's finished to a high standard. It's on a working dairy farm, so you'll see and hear the cows sometimes. That's part of it.
Inside, it’s open plan downstairs. There's a wood burning stove. Upstairs, the bedroom has a free standing bath in front of a Juliet balcony. You get a good view from there. There's a shower too. Outside, there's a private hot tub on the patio.
It’s quiet. You’re a couple of miles from the nearest shop and pub. For a proper town, Lancaster is about four miles away. It has a castle, shops, and places to eat. The coast at Morecambe is about eight miles.
For walking, Clougha Pike is less than a mile from the door. Williamson Park is about three miles. You're well placed for the Forest of Bowland. The Lake District is about half an hour's drive to Kendal. The Yorkshire Dales, towards Ingleton, are about forty minutes.
Facilities: there's on-site parking, a washing machine, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
