Hen Harrier Lodge is a place we built on our land near the Trough of Bowland. It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating so it's well-equipped, comfortable and clean.
It's a single-storey lodge. The main room is open plan: kitchen, living area and dining table. Big folding doors open right onto your private patio. There's a woodburner for cooler nights. The bed is a king size. The shower is a walk-in rainfall type.
The patio looks onto the fields and fells. We keep chickens, so you'll get some fresh eggs when you arrive. There's corn if you want to feed them.
You're in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's quiet. You can walk for miles and not see many people. We've left some maps of our favourite local walks. If you cycle, we can sort out bike storage, and there's hire nearby. The Forest of Bowland website has more information.
Garstang, a market town, is a short drive for shops and a supermarket. There's a decent pub in Dolphinholme village about a mile and a half away. Lancaster is about six miles.
From here you can get to a lot within an hour. Morecambe Bay and the coast. The Lake District. The Yorkshire Dales. Even Manchester or Preston if you needed a city.
Facilities: there's parking right outside. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
