Brookside Cottage is in Forton. It's a detached house set back from the main road. Sleeps eight, four bedrooms, three bathrooms. Got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not a show home.
The garden is enclosed and gated. There's a little brook that runs along the bottom of it. You can sit out there and hear the water.
The stairs are standard, not too steep. There's a wood burning stove in the living room. We leave some logs for you to get started.
You can take up to two dogs. The garden is fully enclosed so that helps.
There's a pub about 400 yards away. It serves food and gets good reviews. The nearest shop is in Garstang, about three miles. It's a proper market town with a Thursday market. Lancaster is about eight miles if you need bigger shops or want to see the castle.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. The Trough of Bowland road is a beautiful drive. The Lancaster Canal towpath is half a mile away for flat walks or cycling. You can hire day boats there too.
If you want the coast, Blackpool is about 40 minutes in the car. All the usual stuff there: the Tower, Pleasure Beach, the sea front. For lakes, Windermere is also around 40 minutes away.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking for a couple of cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included.
