Barn Scar

Barn Scar is on our farm in Corney. It's a glamping pod, one of several on the site. It's a working farm, so you'll see cattle around the fields. You can feed the calves sometimes, if you're here at the right time of year.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms inside the pod: one double, one with bunk beds, and a sofa bed in the living space. There's one en-suite shower room. It has a 4 Star rating. The floor is heated, which is good for when it gets chilly.

Outside there's a patio with a table and chairs. You get your own space. The kitchenette has a two-ring hob, a small fridge, and a Belfast sink. We can provide a mini oven if you ask for it in advance. It's got the basics: pots, pans, cutlery. We include the bedding and towels.

You can bring up to two dogs. They need to be kept on a lead around the farm.

The coast at Seascale is about two miles away for a beach walk. The nearest pub and shop are in Corney, roughly two miles. The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is a short drive. It's a small steam train that goes up the valley. Muncaster Castle is nearby for gardens and a bird of prey centre.

For a bigger day out, Coniston Water is about a 20 minute drive for boats and walks. The Lake District National Park authority site is useful for planning. South Lakes Safari Zoo is near Dalton-in-Furness, which is around half an hour away.

There's parking right by the pod. The facilities list is accurate: TV, parking, that sort of thing. It's a simple place on a farm, but it's comfortable.
