The Coach House is on our farm in Corney, near Bootle. It's detached. You'll see the farmhouse next door where we live. Originally it was for the horse-drawn coach, and there used to be a piggery on the side. It's a 3 Star place, which means it's comfortable and clean but not fancy.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is upstairs, the other is a shower room on the ground floor. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so they turn a corner and are a bit steep.
You're on a working farm, so you'll hear and see the animals. There's a private garden with a patio and a BBQ. We've put in an electric vehicle charger. There's parking right outside.
The beach is about a mile away. It's a proper stretch of sand, good for a walk. The village shop is a few minutes' walk. The nearest pub for food is in Bootle, about five miles. The local train station is in Bootle too, a 15-minute walk. You can get the train south to Lancaster or north to Carlisle.
For getting about, Ravenglass is eight miles away. That's where you get the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, the small steam train. It's a good day out. Coniston Water and the western fells are about a 30-minute drive, so you can get into the Lake District without the busiest crowds. There are a couple of golf courses nearby, Seascale and Silecroft.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. The facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
