The Barn is in Corney, which is a small village near the west coast. It's a converted barn that sleeps twelve. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining, and living area all together. There's a big inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. The floors are wooden, and there are beams. It's a big space for a group.
Outside, there's a courtyard with some old stables, and a patio garden. The view looks over towards Black Combe. You can see a long way.
The pub is about a mile away. You can walk it, but the lane has no pavement, so take care. Bootle is a little over a mile the other way for a shop and a cafe.
The coast is two miles. You can get to the beach at Ravenglass in about ten minutes by car. The National Trust and the Lake District National Park have lots of information on the area. For the railway, look up the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.
Within a half hour drive you've got Wastwater, Ennerdale Water, and Coniston Water. Muncaster Castle is just down the road. Golf and horse riding are available nearby if you book in advance.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring two dogs.
