This is Selker View. It's a glamping pod on our farm in Corney, Cumbria. It's not a cottage, it's a wooden pod, but it's kitted out properly. It gets a 4 Star rating, so there are a few comforts.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms really, but there's a sofa bed too. One bathroom with a shower. The kitchenette has a mini oven if you ask for it in advance. There's underfloor heating so it's warm even when it's cold outside.
You get your own bit of patio with seating. The hot tub is out there, which is private to your pod. There's parking right next to it.
The pod is on a working farm. That means you'll see and hear farm animals. Sometimes, if we're feeding the calves, you're welcome to come and help. It's not a show, it's just what we're doing.
You're up on the west coast, near the Irish Sea. It's about two miles to the nearest bit of beach at Selker. The coast path is good for walks. A proper pub is two miles away in the village.
For a day out, the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is about a 20 minute drive. That's a small steam train that goes up the valley. Muncaster Castle is right next to it. Their gardens and bird shows are worth the trip. Coniston Water and Grizedale Forest are maybe half an hour away if you want to go on the water or walk in the trees.
You can bring two dogs. Bedding and towels are included. There's a TV and WiFi, though the signal can be up and down because we're rural.
If you're looking at the area, Lake District National Park has all the walking routes, and Visit Cumbria is good for general information.
