The Nissen Hut

The Nissen Hut is in Ubbeston, Suffolk. It's a single building, detached, in what was part of a farmyard. It's a big curved roof hut, which is why it's called that. Sleeps two.

The rating is 5 Star. It's been done up inside to a high standard, so it's comfortable and everything works as it should. One bedroom, with the shower room right there off it. The main room is open plan: kitchen, living area, wood burner. French doors open out to a private terrace with a table and chairs.

It's very quiet here. You look out over fields. There's parking next to it.

You can bring two dogs. The garden area is enclosed, but it's not huge, so you'd need to walk them properly elsewhere.

The nearest pub is in Laxfield, about a mile and a half. It's called The Royal Oak, it's a proper old pub. For shops, you'll need to drive.

The coast is about a 25-minute drive. Southwold has the beach and the pier. Aldeburgh is a bit further south. Both have good places to eat. Walberswick is between them, popular for crabbing off the bridge.

If you like walking or birdwatching, RSPB Minsmere is about half an hour away. Dunwich Heath is there too. For history, Framlingham Castle is within 30 minutes. Snape Maltings is good for a wander around the shops and galleries by the river.

Inside, it has WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. The wood burner is ready to use, we supply the logs.
