Ash Studio is on a farm near Rafford, just outside Forres. It's one of six studios here. It's a single open plan room with a separate bedroom and bathroom built on the end. It's compact, but it's been built really well with good materials.
It sleeps up to three. There's a kingsize bed in the bedroom that can be split into two singles if you ask beforehand, and a single sofa bed in the main room. The bathroom has a walk-in shower.
The big window looks out over a paddock with some trees and ponds. You have a veranda outside your door, but it's shared with the studio next door. You can step straight from it onto the paddock.
It's a 3 Star place. That means it's clean, comfortable, and everything works, but don't expect lots of extra luxuries. It's a good, straightforward base.
The farm is quiet. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant about two and a half miles away in Forres. The coast is about seven or eight miles north. Findhorn village is worth a look.
For walking, the Dava Way is close by. You're well placed for day trips. Elgin is about fifteen minutes south. Inverness is under an hour's drive. You're on the right side of the country for Speyside and the whisky distilleries. The Cairngorms National Park is maybe forty-five minutes to the south west.
In terms of what's here: all the basics are included. There's WiFi, parking, bedding and towels. You can bring one dog. Because there are several studios, it can work for a family gathering if you book a few together. There's an on-site chef available for group meals.
