Blackthorn Studio Rafford

Blackthorn Studio is on our farm in Rafford. It's one of six studios here, all in a row. They share a big veranda at the front.

It's an open-plan space for three people. One room really, with a kingsize bed that can be split into twins if you ask beforehand. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. The furniture is simple, mostly wood. Big windows look out over the paddock.

You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and chickens. It's quiet. The other studios are nearby, but everyone tends to keep to themselves. You can bring one dog.

Forres is about three miles away. That's where you'll find a Co-op, a couple of pubs, and places to eat. Findhorn and its beach is a ten minute drive. The coast is good for walks. For a proper beach day, Findhorn Bay is probably best.

If you want to go further, you're about half an hour from some decent spots. Elgin has a cathedral and more shops. Nairn has a long beach and a good links golf course. The Cairngorms National Park starts not far south of here, if you want proper hills. There's a lot of whisky distilleries around Speyside too, if that's your thing.

Facilities: there's parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. You've got a kitchenette with a hob and a microwave, so you can do basic meals. There's a shared washing machine in a shed on site.
