The Embassy
The Embassy is in Eyemouth, right on the high street. It’s the top floor of an old bank building. You get your own front door up a stone staircase at the side.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, all with king size beds, and three bathrooms, which is handy. Two of the bedrooms have their own shower rooms. The place has a 5 Star rating. It feels spacious, not crowded.
The main room is big. Very big. High ceilings. There’s a wood burner for chilly evenings. The dining table is a proper, solid piece in the middle of it all.
The kitchen has more than you’d need. American fridge freezer, two ovens, a wine cooler. It’s all there.
Eyemouth is a working harbour. You’ll see boats. There are a few pubs and places to eat on the high street, and good fish and chips. You can book boat trips from the harbour.
You’re on the coast for walks. St Abb's Head is a short drive away, it’s a National Trust site. Inland, the Borders are right there. You can be in Edinburgh or Newcastle in about an hour by car. Berwick-upon-Tweed is just over the border.
Facilities wise: parking is on site, bedding and towels are included, there's WiFi. No pets. The stairs up to the front door are the original stone ones, so they're a bit steeper than a normal house.
