Cliff House is a big house in Swanage. It sleeps fifteen people, which makes it good for families or groups of friends. There are eight bedrooms and five bathrooms. We had it refurbished a few years ago so everything works and it’s comfortable.
It’s detached and you get the whole place to yourselves. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you have kids or a dog. Sorry, I forgot, no pets allowed. You can park four cars on the drive and there’s often space on the street as well.
The layout is spread over three floors. One bedroom is on the ground floor, which is useful. The stairs are fine, just normal house stairs. Some of the bedrooms have smart TVs. The kitchen has two ovens and a big fridge freezer. There’s a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
The beach is about a five minute walk down the hill. There’s a café on the beachfront. Opposite the house is a hotel with a pub garden. They do a good afternoon tea, but you need to book it. Swanage town centre is a fifteen minute walk. There are shops, pubs, and fish and chip shops. You know what Swanage is like.
For things to do, the Jurassic Coast is right there. You can walk along the coast path. Durlston Country Park is close by, it’s a good spot for a walk. The steam train from Swanage station goes to Corfe Castle, which is a National Trust site. Within about half an hour you can drive to places like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, or Studland Bay.
