Cliff House
Cliff House is in Swanage. It's a detached house right on the edge of town, about a five minute walk from the beach. It sleeps fifteen, which is a lot. There are eight bedrooms and five bathrooms spread over three floors.
We had it renovated a couple of years ago. It's comfortable and spacious, but it's a big family house, not a show home. The stairs are normal house stairs. One bedroom is on the ground floor, which is handy. Some rooms have Smart TVs.
The kitchen is modern and has two ovens and a big fridge freezer because you need it for a group that size. There's parking for four cars on the drive. Street parking is available too if you need more.
The beach is close. There's a cafe there. Directly opposite the house is a hotel with a pub garden that looks out to sea. They do a good afternoon tea, but you need to book it. The town centre is about fifteen minutes on foot. You'll find shops, pubs, and fish and chip shops there. The seafront has arcades and ice cream.
For days out, the Swanage Railway steam train goes to Corfe Castle. The castle is a National Trust site. Walking the Jurassic Coast is the main thing here. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are about half an hour's drive. Durlston Country Park is just south of Swanage and is worth a visit.
Within a thirty minute drive you've got places like Studland Bay, the Arne nature reserve, and Monkey World. The Tank Museum at Bovington is about twenty five minutes away.
In terms of what's here: the garden is enclosed. There's a BBQ, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
