Mulberry Cottage

Mulberry Cottage is in Acton, Dorset. It’s one of a row of three old quarrymen's cottages, so it’s joined on one side. It’s a Grade II listed building. It’s a three star place, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The ceilings are low in places, because it’s old.

It’s for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. We allow up to two dogs. There’s an enclosed garden out the back with a table and chairs. You get the whole garden to yourself.

Inside, there’s a woodburner for colder nights. We leave you some logs to get you started. There’s a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included.

You can walk to the coast from here. Dancing Ledge is about a mile away. It’s a good spot. Swanage is two and a half miles. That’s where the main sandy beach is, and all the shops and places to eat. The coastal path runs right past, so you can walk into Swanage that way if you want.

There’s a pub about a mile’s walk away. A shop is half a mile.

If you drive, Corfe Castle is about ten minutes away. It’s a proper ruin on a hill. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are maybe half an hour’s drive. The National Trust has a lot of land down here. The Dorset Council countryside site has walking maps.

There’s parking right outside the cottage.
