Windjammer Cottage is a modern house in central Swanage. It's not a traditional cottage, more a terraced town house, but it's in a good spot.
It sleeps five, in two bedrooms. One's a double, the other is a king-size bed but they've fitted a single bed above it, which makes a sort of bunk arrangement for adults or kids. The bathroom is upstairs between the rooms.
The living area is all open plan on the ground floor, so if someone's cooking, they're not shut off from everyone else. There's a small private courtyard out the back.
Everything in the town is very close. The beach, shops, and a pub are about a minute's walk away. The pub serves food. The beach is sandy and shelly, classic Dorset.
You're right on the edge of the Isle of Purbeck. The steam train to Corfe Castle leaves from just down the road. The castle ruins are dramatic, good for a couple of hours. The village there is nice for an ice cream.
Durlston Country Park is a good walk from the cottage, or a very short drive. It's cliffs and meadows with great views. There's a castle there too, which is now a café and visitor centre.
The whole Jurassic Coast is on your doorstep. Studland Bay and Old Harry Rocks are about ten minutes by car. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are about half an hour's drive.
In terms of facilities, it's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. They can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate.
It says wheelchair accessible entrance, so the main door is level. But the bathroom and both bedrooms are upstairs, just so you know. Two well-behaved dogs are allowed.
