The Alachigh
The Alachigh is in Rhos, Carmarthenshire. It's basically a big, posh tent in the woods. You get views over the Teifi valley.
It sleeps six but it’s all in the one big space, so it’s not private. There's one bathroom. The shower and toilet are shared with other people on site, a short walk away. It has a 3 Star rating. If you're after a proper cottage, this isn’t it. It's glamping.
Inside, it's one open area with a kitchen and a wood burner. There are colourful blankets and fairy lights. You’ve got your own BBQ and seating outside in your bit of the woods.
The site is four acres of woodland. There's a shared fire pit and a log cabin for groups. The owners have put in a play area for kids with stepping stones and fairy doors in the trees.
You're on the border of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. For a day at the beach, the Pembrokeshire coast is about a 30 minute drive. New Quay and its harbour are a similar distance. The Iron Age hillforts are worth a look if you like history.
In terms of facilities: bedding is included, there's parking, and you have a BBQ. No pets. The showers are shared.
