Beach Cottage is short walk to the train station where you can jump on the train to Edinburgh and spend the day exploring this impressive historical city. There are local shops, cafés and a restaurant nearby with a short drive to the bigger neighbouring town of Burntisland where you will find a larger selection of local shops and amenities. Kinghorn sits on the stunning Fife Coastal Path where you can follow it up to St Andrews driving past the other picturesque fishing villages like, Pittenweem, Crail and Anstruther along the way. With so many places and activities to choose from within a short drive you will be spoilt for choice.
The Royal City of Dunfermline is less than 30-minute drive away where you can visit Dunfermline Abbey where the heart of King Robert The Bruce is said to be buried along with the ruins of the Royal Palace and the lovely manicured Pittencrieff Park with roaming peacocks is worth a visit. If you are looking for more family things to do like cinemas or bowling and shopping, then Dunfermline has it all. Head 30 minutes north and visit Falkland, the gorgeous historic village where you may recognise some of the cobbled streets from the TV hit series ‘Outlander’. A visit to Falkland Palace and Garden is highly recommended. On road parking is along the road less than a minute from Beach Cottage so not to spoil the views.
