Vyrnwy Bank is in Llanymynech, right on the border between Shropshire and Wales. It's an old, semi-detached house, one of a pair. It sleeps twelve, which is why we get a lot of family groups.
It's a big, solid place from the 1700s. We've kept some of the bits you'd expect, like exposed beams and a fireplace. There's a wood burning stove in there. It's got six bedrooms and three bathrooms over two floors. Some are en-suite, some share.
The stairs are typical for an old house. They're a bit steep and the treads can be uneven in places.
Outside, there's a patio and garden for you. Parking for a few cars on the drive. Inside, you've got the basics covered: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included.
You can bring up to two dogs. We've also got a cot, highchair, and a stairgate if you need them.
The village centre is about half a mile's walk. There's a shop and a couple of pubs there that do food. For a bigger shop, Oswestry is a short drive away.
You're really here for the walking. The Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve is on the doorstep. The Berwyn mountains are about five miles into Wales. It's a good base for National Trust places like Chirk Castle and English Heritage sites further afield.
If you're coming with someone who needs it, the main entrance is step-free and wheelchair accessible. Inside, the doorways are standard width and there's a shower room on the ground floor.
