Durcombe Water Annexe is in Barbrook, which is a few miles up from Lynmouth. It's a studio annexe attached to the main house, which is ours. You get your own little deck and lawn area. It's private and looks down the valley.
It sleeps two. One room with a kingsize bed, a kitchen area and a bathroom with a big shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There are 13 steps up from the parking space to the annexe door. They're wide and not steep, but there are 13 of them.
The location is quiet. You're in Exmoor National Park straight away. We often see deer and Exmoor ponies from the windows. The night skies are very dark here, which is good for stargazing.
Lynmouth is about four miles away. You can drive or there are good walks down. The cliff railway from Lynton is worth a trip. There's a beach at Lynmouth. Two pubs are within three miles.
For a day out, the coast path is right there. You can walk for miles. Exmoor National Park has all the walking routes. Watersmeet is close by for a wooded riverside walk. If you want to go further, Dartmoor or the North Devon coast towards Ilfracombe are about an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, parking for one car, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
