This is Riverside Cottage in Brendon. It's right on the East Lyn river. You can see it from the living room windows. It's a Victorian cottage, so the rooms are a good size but the layout is old-fashioned. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and well-equipped, but it's not a show home. It's a proper cottage.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep. You can bring two dogs. There's a garden at the back, and a woodburning stove for when it's cold.
There's a pub just down the lane that does food. It's got seats by the water. Brendon itself is tiny. For a shop, you'll need to go to Lynton or Lynmouth.
Lynmouth is about four miles away. It's on the coast. You can walk there along the river if you want. They've got a beach, pubs by the harbour, and the cliff railway up to Lynton. The Valley of the Rocks is just west of Lynton. It's worth a look.
If you like walking, you're right in the middle of it. The South West Coast Path goes through here. Watersmeet, which is run by the National Trust, is close by. It's a good walk through the woods to the waterfalls. Exmoor is all around you. For planning, these sites are useful: Exmoor National Park and National Trust Watersmeet.
The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car. You can fish in the river. Because there's no street lights, the night skies are very dark here.
