The Loft is a second floor apartment in Lynmouth. It sleeps three, in a double and a single bedroom. There's one bathroom.
It's got its own separate entrance, no shared hallway. You look out over the East Lyn river and you can just see a bit of sea between the buildings.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's well kept and comfortable. The living area is open plan with a kitchen and a breakfast bar in the middle. There's a smart TV, WiFi, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a parking space for one car, which is a big help here in season.
Lynmouth is a small harbour village at the bottom of the gorge. It's part of Exmoor National Park. The famous cliff railway connects it to Lynton at the top. It's a Victorian water-powered thing and it's quite something. You can walk up the path instead if you're feeling energetic.
You can walk straight out from the door. There are pubs, a cafe, and shops by the harbour. The river walks are lovely. For a longer walk, the National Trust's Watersmeet is close by, up the river valley. The Valley of the Rocks, just west of Lynton, is a strange, dramatic place worth seeing.
If you want a big beach day, the north Devon surf beaches like Woolacombe and Croyde are about a 45 minute drive. Closer by, there's a small beach at Lynmouth itself when the tide's out.
Being in Exmoor means dark skies at night, if that's your thing. You might see more stars than you're used to.
No pets, I'm afraid.
For planning walks and days out, the Exmoor National Park website is useful.
