Burlington

This is Burlington. It's a first-floor apartment above an art gallery on the main street in Lynton. There's another one above it called The Loft. We book them separately, or together if you're a group of four.

The apartment sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and everything works, but it's not a fancy hotel. The building is Victorian, so the stairs up to the front door are the normal kind of steep for around here.

Inside, you've got a decent-sized living room, a TV, and WiFi. The kitchen has what you need. There's a small shared garden out the back with a table. It gets the sun in the afternoon.

Lynton is a small town on the edge of Exmoor. You can walk to shops, pubs, and cafes. The Exmoor National Park starts pretty much at the end of the street. There are miles of walking paths from the door.

The Valley of the Rocks is about a mile west. It's a strange, good walk along a dry valley with sea views. There are feral goats up there. The cliff railway goes down to Lynmouth. It's water-powered and has been running since 1890. Lynmouth has a small harbour and a pebble beach.

For a bigger beach, you'll need to drive. Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are about 45 minutes away. Watersmeet, which is a National Trust gorge with waterfalls, is a 15-minute drive.

In terms of what's included: all the electricity is paid for, bedding and towels are provided, and there's WiFi. There is no parking with the apartment, but there is a long-stay pay car park a three-minute walk away.
