The Hurstings

The Hurstings is in Knowlesands, down a wooded valley just outside Bridgnorth. It's a detached lodge. You get the whole place to yourself, with a patio and an enclosed garden. It looks out onto the trees and the valley.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. There's no step into the property, and the ground floor is level for access.

You're right next to the mill here, which is still owned by the same family. The big waterwheel runs most days. You can hear the water. The old viaduct goes across the valley right behind the lodge.

The nearest pub and restaurant is about a five minute walk up the lane. For a proper shop, you'd drive into Bridgnorth town centre, which is about a mile and a half. It's a split-level town with the cliff railway between the high and low towns. It's a good base.

Within about half an hour you've got a few options. The Ironbridge Gorge museums are about twenty minutes drive. Dudmaston Hall is close by. You can be in Shrewsbury, Ludlow, or Much Wenlock in under thirty minutes if you want a market town or a castle. There's fishing on the river Severn nearby, and a local golf course.

What's here: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. You can bring one dog. There's parking right outside.
