Duck Cottage

Duck Cottage is in Winterbourne Dauntsey. It's about ten minutes by car from Salisbury. It's a detached cottage.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms are a good size and have their own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything is in good order and well looked after.

The main thing here is the garden. It's large and runs down to the River Bourne. It's partly landscaped and partly left wild. You can access the riverbank. The water is shallow in summer, so you can paddle. There's a seating platform by the river. You'll see a lot of birds. Kingfishers, herons, owls. I've seen deer in the fields opposite. The owner, who lives next door, is an artist. She's there if you need anything and she sometimes does pastel lessons if you arrange it beforehand.

There's a village pub a few minutes walk away. It's a proper country pub.

Salisbury is close. You can drive or get the bus. The cathedral is worth seeing. Stonehenge is about a fifteen minute drive. For a longer day out, the New Forest is roughly half an hour away. The south coast, around Bournemouth, is also about thirty minutes.

Inside, it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. The kitchen has what you need. There's plenty of parking. The terrace gets the sun in the afternoon. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
