Duck Cottage

Duck Cottage is in Winterbourne Dauntsey. It's the village by the River Bourne. You get the whole place, obviously, and the garden. But the main thing is the grounds around it. They're big and mostly wild, right down to the riverbank. There's a wooden platform overlooking the water. You can paddle from there when the river's low.

The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both ensuite, which is handy. The beds are comfortable. It's a nice, clean place. Everything works. The kitchen has what you need.

The wildlife is the big draw. I see kingfishers regularly. Owls at night. Deer sometimes. The owner next door is an artist. If you're interested, she does pastel drawing lessons. You'd need to arrange it with her. It's not included.

The village pub is a two minute walk. It's a proper local. Does good food. Salisbury is about ten minutes by car. The bus stop is close, too, if you don't drive. Stonehenge is maybe twenty minutes away.

If you fancied a day out, the New Forest is half an hour south. The coast at the Jurassic Coast, around Dorset, is about forty minutes. There's bike storage here if you bring them.

What's here: parking on the gravel, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets allowed. The garden furniture and BBQ are there for you to use.
