The Old Gate House is in Southborough, on the edge of Royal Tunbridge Wells. It's in the grounds of the Salomons Estate. You're in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but you're not remote. It's about a five minute drive into town.
It's a detached house, sleeps twelve. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's been done to a high standard. It's got a 5 Star rating.
The main bedroom has a roll top bath at the foot of the bed. The stairs are normal, not steep. There's parking for several cars right next to the house. The garden is yours, with views over the estate.
The estate itself is 36 acres of gardens and woodland. You're free to walk around it. There are gravel paths, but it can get muddy. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
Tunbridge Wells is close. The Pantiles is the famous bit, with its colonnade and spring. For a bigger day out, you're about an hour from London by train from Tunbridge Wells station.
Hever Castle is a twenty minute drive. Leeds Castle is about thirty minutes. If you want the coast, it's roughly forty minutes to an hour to places like Rye or Camber Sands.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, TV, WiFi. The property is wheelchair accessible at the entrance. There's a BBQ.
