So this is Salomans Country Cottage over in Southborough, just outside Tunbridge Wells. It's ours. It's detached, which means you're not sharing walls with anyone.
It's an old place, built in the 1600s originally. We've done it up, kept the old bits like the beams, but put in things like decent heating and Wi-Fi. There are Smart TVs in the bedrooms and an Amazon Echo in the living space. The stairs are typical for a cottage, so they're a bit uneven and turn sharply.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite with a roll-top bath. Everything's included, bedding, towels. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. The kitchen doors open out to a private courtyard with a table.
You're right on the Salomans Estate. It's 36 acres of gardens and woods. You and one dog are welcome to walk around it. There's a bar, a gym, and a museum in the main mansion house on site. It's a working estate, so sometimes there are weddings or events in the function rooms, but the cottage itself is separate and quiet.
Southborough itself has a local shop and a couple of pubs within walking distance. You're about a ten minute drive from the centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The Pantiles there is good for a wander, some shops and places to eat.
If you want to go further out, you're well placed. Ashdown Forest, where the Winnie-the-Pooh stories are set, is about a 20 minute drive. The coast at Hastings is roughly 40 minutes. For National Trust places, National Trust South East has a list, and things like Sissinghurst Castle Garden or Scotney Castle are within half an hour.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which basically means everything is in good working order and it's comfortable. There's parking right outside. The entrance is step-free and the ground floor has a bedroom and a bathroom, so it works if someone has mobility issues.
