Balnain 1
Balnain 1 is a cottage on the Brahan Estate, near Ussie. It's a two-bedroom place, sleeps four, and has one bathroom. It's a 4 Star property, so it's comfortable and well-kept.
The main room has an open fire, which is nice in the evenings. The windows look out over the fields. There's a patio and garden area to sit out in.
The estate has a lot of history, including the Brahan Seer prophecies. The River Conon runs through it, and you're free to fish for salmon or trout there, or on Loch Ussie. There's also a small golf course on the estate, and you can arrange clay pigeon shooting or stalking if you contact the estate office beforehand.
It's a good spot for getting out. You're between Dingwall and Contin, so you've got shops and pubs about ten minutes in either direction. Inverness is about half an hour's drive for a bigger supermarket or the cinema.
From here, you can drive out to the west coast in a couple of hours. Places like Torridon or Applecross are a good day out. The east coast and the Black Isle are closer, maybe twenty minutes.
Facilities are what you'd expect: TV, wifi, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. It's mostly on one level so the entrance is wheelchair accessible. You can bring one dog. There's parking right outside.
