Woodside Hut 3 is one of three huts on our croft near Bottacks, in the Highlands. It's a single-storey cabin, so no stairs. The door is wide enough for a wheelchair.
It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep, chickens, and ducks around. You drive through the yard to get to the hut's parking spot. They're mostly quiet, but the rooster does crow sometimes.
The hut is for two people. One bedroom, one shower room. It's all open plan, so the living space and kitchen are together.
Outside, there's a deck with seating and a firepit. The best bit is probably the two small, private hot tubs on the raised decking. They're just for this hut.
The view is the main thing. You look out over the strath towards Strathpeffer, the golf course, and the Cromarty Firth. On a clear day, you can see the Black Isle. We leave a welcome pack for you with some things from the croft. If the bees are active, it sometimes includes our own honey.
Strathpeffer, the Victorian spa town, is about a ten-minute drive. It has shops, cafes, and a couple of places to eat. For a bigger supermarket, Dingwall is about fifteen minutes away.
You're well placed for getting around. You can join the NC500 route easily. Inverness is maybe 40 minutes by car if you need the airport or a big shop. The coast all along the Cromarty Firth and the Black Isle is close by for walks. If you want mountains, you're already looking at them. Glen Affric isn't too far.
