Isle Of Skye Contin

The chalet's up on the bit of a rise, so you get a decent view out the front over the river and hills. It's on the edge of a campsite, so there's some coming and going, but it's mostly quiet.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twins. Shower room is fine. The living area's all open plan, kitchen at one end.

You've got a deck out the front with chairs. Parking right there.

Contin village is quiet. There's a shop about a minute's walk away. The pub's a few minutes in the other direction and they do meals. Strathpeffer, the spa town, is just down the road.

It's a handy spot for getting about. You're about 30 minutes from Inverness. Loch Ness is about 25 minutes west. The Moray Firth coast, where the dolphins are, is maybe 40 minutes north-east. The real Isle of Skye is a drive, more like two hours plus, but it's a doable day trip if you set off early.

If you're here to be outdoors, it's good. There's lots of walking right from the door. Fishing on the local rivers. Golf courses nearby. You'll often see red kites circling over the fields.

In terms of what's there: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a TV, WiFi, and parking. The garden bit is enclosed. No pets allowed, sorry.
