Isle Of Skye
This is the chalet on the Isle of Skye. It's in Contin, which is in the Highlands, not actually on the Isle of Skye itself. The name is a bit misleading, sorry about that.
It's up on a bit of a slope on the edge of a campsite. You get a good view out over the river and the hills from the deck. It's a bungalow, so all on one level, which is handy. Inside it's open plan, with the kitchen and living area together. It sleeps four in two bedrooms, one double and one with two singles. There's one shower room.
The thing to know is it's on a campsite. You have your own enclosed deck and parking space, but you'll see other guests coming and going. We often see red kites flying over.
There's a shop about a minute's walk away, and a pub and restaurant just down the road. Strathpeffer, which has a bit more, is a couple of miles away.
For getting out, you're well placed. Inverness is about half an hour's drive. Loch Ness is about 40 minutes. The real Isle of Skye is a good two hour drive, but it's a straightforward route. The Moray Firth coast with its beaches is also within an hour.
If you like walking or cycling, you can start right from the door. There's local fishing too. It's a three-star place, so it's comfortable and clean.
You can book it together with the two other chalets next door if you need space for a bigger group.
