This is Hut One at Woodside. It's near Bottacks, outside Strathpeffer. It's a small, detached wooden hut on a farm. It's for two people.
The view from up here is the main thing. You look out over Strathpeffer, across the Cromarty Firth to the Black Isle. You see woods, hills, the town. When the light changes it's different every hour.
It's on a working croft, so there are sheep and chickens around. It's quiet, but you'll hear farm sounds. Your welcome hamper has eggs and sometimes honey from the hives on the hill.
The hut itself is one open-plan room with a kitchen area and a bed. It's simple and clean. There's a shower room. Everything is on the ground floor and the entrance has no steps.
Outside, there's a deck with a table and chairs. There's also a private hot tub on a raised deck next to the hut. You get a firepit too.
Strathpeffer is a five minute drive. It's a Victorian spa town with a few cafes and shops. There's a golf course just down the hill. For a walk, you can go up the hill behind the huts straight from the door.
You're well placed for driving. You can join the NC500 route easily. Inverness is about half an hour away for big shops. The Black Isle is just over the bridge, maybe twenty minutes. Ullapool is about an hour's drive west for the ferry to the islands.
It has wifi, parking right outside, and all bedding and towels are included. No pets. If you're coming with another couple, Hut Two and Hut Three are identical and can be booked together.
For planning trips, the NC500 website has maps. The National Trust for Scotland has information on nearby places like Cromarty.
