It's called Loch Ness, but it's not right on the loch. It's in Contin, near Strathpeffer. It's a chalet, one of a set on the edge of a campsite. You look out over the site towards the river.
It sleeps four maximum. There's one bedroom with a double and a single bed. Then in the living area there's a day bed that makes a single. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and works fine, it's not luxurious. The whole place is on one level and the doors are wide, so it's suitable for a wheelchair.
You've got a decked area outside the front. It gets the evening sun. Inside, it's open plan. The kitchen has what you need. There's a TV and wifi.
The shop is very close, about 50 yards. The pub and a restaurant are about 200 yards away. Strathpeffer, the old spa village, is just down the road.
You're in a good spot for getting out. Inverness is about half an hour's drive. Loch Ness itself is maybe 25 minutes. The Moray Coast, for beaches like Findhorn or Nairn, is about 40 minutes east. If you want to go further, the road to the Isle of Skye starts about an hour and a half west from here.
Round here, you can see red kites often. There's fishing locally. Plenty of castles and distilleries to visit within a 30 minute drive. National Nature Reserves like Beinn Eighe are a good drive out but worth it.
The facilities are all listed. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
You can book this one together with the other two chalets, Isle of Skye and The Cairngorms, if you're a bigger group. They're next to each other.
