East Lodge is in Little Scatwell, up Strathconon in the Highlands. It's a detached, stone lodge. It's a listed building, so the walls are thick and the windows are deep. It has its own garden, which is enclosed. We take two dogs.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. Two are king size beds, one is a twin. There's one bathroom upstairs with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are the original ones, so they turn and are a bit steeper than modern stairs.
The kitchen has everything you'd need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a wood burning stove in the living room. We supply the wood. The mobile signal is patchy, but there's WiFi.
You'll see red deer from the windows, often in the morning. Birds of prey are common. The garden has a patio area with a fire pit.
You can walk straight from the door up the glen. The river Conon is a short walk away for fishing. For a proper day out, Inverness is about 40 minutes drive. Loch Ness is a bit further. The start of the NC500 route is under an hour away, which takes you towards places like Applecross and the west coast.
