Holly Cottage is in Gorstan, near Garve in the Scottish Highlands. It's a single-storey bungalow, so all on one level. That makes it easy if stairs are a problem.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite with a bath. The other two are a double and a twin room. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's modern, clean and well-equipped, not luxurious. The furniture is straightforward and the place is bright.
Outside is a patio garden with a table and chairs. There's a portable barbecue you can use. The view from the cottage is over fields and countryside. It's quiet.
You're about a mile from the village of Garve. There's a shop there, and a hotel that does food. The Garve Railway Station is a mainline stop so you can get the train to Inverness or up the west coast line.
For things to do nearby, the Rogie Falls are close by. It's a good walk, you might see salmon leaping if you're there at the right time of year. Loch Garve is nearby if you're into fishing.
Within about half an hour's drive you can get to Dingwall, which is a proper town with shops. Strathpeffer is a bit closer, that's a Victorian spa village. The Black Isle is that way too, good for coastal drives.
Further afield, you're well placed for day trips. Ullapool is about an hour north. Inverness is about forty minutes east. The west coast and places like the Beinn Eighe nature reserve or the Inverewe Gardens are a couple of hours' drive, but it's a spectacular drive. The road to the Isle of Skye is about an hour and a half.
Facilities wise, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Parking is right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
