This is Ty Newydd Y Graig. It's our place in Graig, Denbighshire. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It's a detached cottage built in the 1800s from the local limestone. It backs right onto a nature reserve and old woodland, which is nice. You can see the rock face it was quarried from just behind it.
Because it's built onto the rock, the floor levels are a bit unusual. There's a step up into the kitchen from the living room. The stairs are the original ones, so they're narrow and a bit twisty. They're not great for anyone with mobility issues. It's not wheelchair accessible.
The furniture is mostly antique, which fits the house. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not modern luxury. Everything works, there's just a few quirks you live with. There's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking.
You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed.
The nearest pub is about a mile and a half. A good restaurant is three quarters of a mile away. For a proper shop you need to go about five miles, but you can get supermarket deliveries.
It's a good spot for walking straight from the door onto Y Graig. For day trips, Snowdonia is about half an hour's drive. Offa's Dyke is close. The coast and beaches are within half an hour. Chester, with the Roman walls and cathedral, is also about half an hour away.
