High Windy Cottage is in Garrigill, Cumbria. It's a detached place, up on a hill. The views are the main thing. You can see the North Pennines from the windows.
It sleeps five people. There are three bedrooms. Two doubles and one single. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. One has a bath and a shower, the other is just a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The living room has a wood burner. It heats the room well. There's also a conservatory, which is good for sitting in when it's sunny. You can see the fields from there.
The local pub is about a quarter of a mile down the road. It's a proper walkers' pub. The nearest shop is in Alston, which is a bit over a mile away. Alston's a small town, one of the highest in England. You can get the basics there. The South Tynedale Railway is there too, if you fancy a trip on a little train.
This area is good for walking. You're right in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There's no need to drive for miles to start a hike, you can go straight from the door. For a bigger day out, the northern bits of the Lake District are about a 40 minute drive. Hadrian's Wall is also within an hour.
Things here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, parking for two cars, and an enclosed garden. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if needed. No pets, I'm afraid.
