Fisher's Cottage is in Balintore, on the east coast north of Inverness. It's an old fisherman's cottage, single-storey, which means no stairs. You're just down a quiet lane from the beach and the harbour.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one's a kingsize and the other is a single. One bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and tidy, modern inside but in a traditional shell. The back door opens onto an enclosed garden with a lawn and some shrubs. It's quiet.
You can bring one dog. The entrance and the main rooms are wheelchair accessible, but the bathroom isn't fully adapted so you'd need to check the specifics.
Balintore is a small seaside village. There's a shop and post office about five minutes' walk away. The pub and a restaurant are maybe a ten-minute walk. The beach is sandy and it's right there, a couple of minutes down the lane. You can often see dolphins from the shore.
If you drive, Tain is about ten minutes away for bigger shops. The famous golf courses are at Dornoch and Brora, both within half an hour. There are whisky distilleries around too, like Glenmorangie which is near Tain.
For a day out, Inverness is about 35 minutes by car. The Culloden battlefield is on the way in. Further north, you've got the North Highlands for proper walking.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Parking is on site. Bedding and towels are included. Electricity is included in the price.
