Lower Hameldown

This is Lower Hameldown. It's on the edge of Bonehill, just outside Two Bridges, right on Dartmoor. It's part of a group of cottages called Wooder Manor. You're in the national park, so it's quiet. The views are of the moor and Hameldown Tor.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, which is handy. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not a show home. The walls are thick stone. It feels solid.

You can bring two dogs. There's a patio and a bit of garden that's yours. Parking is right outside the door. There's a washing machine, wifi, and a TV. The bedding and towels are here for you.

The nearest pub is about a mile away in Two Bridges. There's a shop and a cafe at Princetown, which is a couple of miles. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Tavistock or Ashburton, both about 20 minutes.

You walk straight out onto the moor. There are bridlepaths and footpaths everywhere. For a proper walk, you can head up to Hameldown Beacon or over to Grimspound, which is an old settlement. The Dartmoor National Park site has good maps.

If you want to drive out, Tavistock is 15 minutes. Plymouth is about 40 minutes. The coast at Bude or the south coast around Torbay is roughly an hour. Castle Drogo is a National Trust property about half an hour away.

That's about it. It's a good base if you want to be on Dartmoor.
