Lower Hameldown

Lower Hameldown is a cottage in Bonehill, on Dartmoor. It's part of a group of places called Wooder Manor. It's quiet here. You look out at fields and the moor.

It's got two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Sleeps four. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, which is handy. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. It's not luxury, but it does the job.

You can bring two dogs. There's an enclosed garden, so that's secure for them. There's parking right outside.

For facilities, you've got a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it.

The local pub is about a mile's walk. It's a proper moorland walk to get there, mind you. The village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor is close by, famous for its church and fair. There are paths straight from the door onto the moor. You can walk for hours.

Bovey Tracey is a short drive away. It's a decent little town with shops. The Devon Guild of Craftsmen is there if you like that sort of thing. Ashburton is nice for a wander too.

If you've got kids, or even if you don't, places like Castle Drogo or Becky Falls are within half an hour. For a beach day, Teignmouth is the closest, but it'll take about an hour to drive there.

Useful links if you're planning walks or trips out on the moor: the Dartmoor National Park website is the best place to start.
