Fisherman's Nook is on my land at Dartmeet. It's a detached granite barn, converted into a place to stay. It's down a track, off the road.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. A four star rating means it's comfortable, with decent fixtures. The main thing is the view. You get a clear look down the River Dart and straight out onto the moor. The light changes all day.
The property is detached, so no one's next door. There's parking and an electric vehicle charger. It has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV.
You're right on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Walk out the door and you're at the clapper bridge. You can follow the river or head straight up onto the tors. The wild ponies are often around.
The nearest pub is about five miles away in Poundsgate. It's a proper local. For more choice, Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a short drive. It has a couple of good pubs and tea rooms. The famous church is there.
Ashburton is about eight miles. It's a small town with shops, a good fishmonger, and places to eat. Chagford and Moretonhampstead are similar. If you want a grand day out, Castle Drogo is within half an hour. For something different, the Eden Project is about an hour's drive.
You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included.
