Tarrant Valley House - Sleeps 14
Tarrant Valley House is on the edge of Tarrant Launceston, a village just outside Blandford Forum. It’s a big converted farmhouse on a working farm, so you’ll see sheep and tractors. It sleeps 14 properly, which isn’t always the case with big houses. There are seven bedrooms, and each one has its own bathroom. That’s the main thing.
It has a 5 Star rating. That means it’s well looked after and everything works. The kitchen is large, with an Aga and a normal oven. There’s a big table in the dining room. The main sitting room has a large corner sofa and a wood burner. There’s a second, quieter sitting room as well.
The indoor swimming pool is heated. There’s a sauna next to it. The garden is walled, so it’s safe for children. There’s a lawn, a tree swing, and some outdoor games.
You can walk to the village pub in five minutes. It serves food. For a bigger shop, you go to Blandford Forum, which is about ten minutes by car.
The coast is about 40 minutes' drive. Poole and Bournemouth are that way. Inland, you’ve got Shaftesbury and Sherborne within half an hour. For a day out, the National Trust's Kingston Lacy estate is nearby, and Studland Bay is on the coast. The Dorset National Landscape site has good information for walks.
Facilities: All bedding and towels are included. There’s Wi-Fi. There’s a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. The swimming pool is open all year.
