Yew Tree Cottage

This is Yew Tree Cottage. It's in Farnham, which is a small, quiet village in Dorset. The cottage itself is fairly large and it's thatched, with wooden beams inside.

It's got three bedrooms and sleeps four. There are two bathrooms and it has a 4 Star rating. You can bring one well-behaved dog.

Now, there are some things to know because it's an old place. The ceilings, door frames and beams are very low in parts. You'll need to mind your head.

There's also a quirk with the layout. To get from the kitchen to the downstairs bathroom, you either have to nip outside and come back in through another door, or go up some stairs and then back down inside. It's just the way the place was built. It means it might not work for someone with limited mobility.

There are two staircases. One is a normal cottage staircase from the living room, which is a bit steep. The other is a spiral staircase from the dining room, which is open-tread and also quite steep.

Inside, there's a wood burner in the living room for cooler evenings. The kitchen has what you need. Outside there's a good-sized garden and parking.

The village pub is about a hundred yards away. The nearest proper shop is a drive, about seven miles to Blandford Forum.

For things to do, you're well placed. The Jurassic Coast is within half an hour. Places like Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are worth the trip. The New Forest is about a 20-minute drive to the east.

Locally, the Kingston Lacy estate is close by. Larmer Tree Gardens are just down the road and nice for a walk. For a family day, Moors Valley Country Park has walking and cycling trails, or there's the Dorset Heavy Horse Farm.

Facilities include the things you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
