Downwood Vineyard is a big Victorian house about a mile and a half outside Blandford Forum. It's set on thirty acres that used to be a vineyard. It's detached and you get the whole grounds.
It sleeps sixteen. Eight bedrooms, five bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have en-suites. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's spacious and well-equipped, more comfortable than flashy. The beds are good. All the bedrooms have TVs.
Downstairs there are two living rooms and they both lead into a large conservatory. There's a big games room with a pool table and table football. Outside there's a patio and garden with a barbecue area, a tennis court, a croquet lawn, and a small outdoor heated swimming pool. There's also a hot tub that fits six.
You can walk the grounds. There's a bridleway that leads to Ashley Wood golf course, which is about two minutes away by car.
Blandford's the nearest town, about five minutes in the car. There's a shop, pub and restaurant there. For beaches, you're looking at Poole, Bournemouth or Weymouth, which are about 18 to 25 miles. They're all sandy.
Within half an hour you've got a few options. Shaftesbury, Wimborne Minster, and Dorchester are nice market towns. Poole Harbour is there for boats. For days out, you've got Monkey World, the Tank Museum at Bovington, or historic houses like Kingston Lacy. The Jurassic Coast at Lulworth or Durdle Door is about 40 minutes.
Facilities are pretty much all here. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, plenty of parking. Woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to three dogs.
