Downwood Vinyard

Downwood Vineyard is a big Victorian house. It's near Blandford. The house itself sits in thirty acres of grounds, which used to be a vineyard. The main thing about the place is the space. It's big.

It sleeps sixteen. It's got eight bedrooms and five bathrooms, three of which are en-suite. The bedrooms are all a good size with TVs. Everything is included: bedding and towels.

Downstairs there are two living rooms and a large conservatory that they both lead into. There's a games room with a pool table and table football.

Outside, you've got your own private tennis court. There's a heated swimming pool, but it's small, just for cooling off really. There's a hot tub that fits six. The garden has space for croquet and barbecues. You can walk around the grounds. The Ashley Wood golf course is next door. You can walk there via a bridle path from the grounds, or drive there in a couple of minutes.

The house has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not cheap. There's broadband.

You're about a mile and a half from a shop and a pub. The pub does food. For a beach, you're probably looking at Bournemouth or Poole, which are around 18 miles.

For days out, you're well-placed. Monkey World and the Tank Museum at Bovington are popular with families. Historic houses like Kingston Lacy are within half an hour. The coast at Poole Harbour, or the Purbeck coastline, is about a 30 minute drive.

You can bring up to three dogs. It's a pet friendly place.
