Yew Tree Barn

This is Yew Tree Barn, near Gwernesney in Monmouthshire. It's a converted barn, so it's one big open space downstairs. That makes it feel very light and spacious. It's detached, so no one's sharing a wall with you.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one of which is a wet room on the ground floor. The whole place is wheelchair accessible, with grab rails and level access.

The rating is 5 Star, which means it's got everything you'd need and it's all been done to a high standard. It's modern and clean.

You're right out in the countryside here. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for kids or a dog. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking right there and an electric vehicle charger.

For facilities, it's got the usual: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. A cot and highchair are here if you need them.

The village of Usk is about ten minutes away by car. It's a nice little town with a castle, some independent shops, and a few pubs. Raglan is also close, and that's where Raglan Castle is. There's a good farm shop and a butcher there too.

You're in a good spot for getting out. Tintern Abbey, Abergavenny, and Monmouth are all within a fifteen or twenty minute drive. For walking, you're not far from the Brecon Beacons or the Wye Valley. There are several golf courses nearby if that's your thing.

Useful links if you're planning: Brecon Beacons National Park, Cadw (Welsh historic sites), and Visit Wales.
